Barrel Aging Chardonnay

Our 2011 Chardonnay was fermented in oak barrels and stored in stainless steal for several months.  In this short episode, we see Villa Bellangelo's winemaker, Ian Barry, transferring the Chardonnay to new Barrel 21 oak barrels in order to infuse the wine with a greater level of oak qualities.  The Chardonnay will be monitored daily, and after approximately 3 weeks, will be removed from the oak barrels and ultimately bottled.  This wine is already delicious and bound to become even better!

August 31, 2012

On August 31, 2012, we received our first grapes of this vintage at Villa Bellangelo, a winery in the Finger Lakes, located on the west side of Seneca Lake.  In this video, we chronicle the day's events, from harvesting the grapes at Gibson Vineyards, to the crush operation at the winery.
